Nice to see Audubon's work being preserved. Beautiful works.

Interested in how many of us have framed how many Audubon prints. I've done around ten.

Ted the Toronto Reference Library has a full set that was donated to them years ago by the family the Gardener Expressway is named after. The library allowed people to "thumb" through them for years and this access caused terrible damage to a priceless portfolio. They finally put it away but in poor condition. Back in the 90's a large bank made a deal with the library to cover the cost of the restoration if the bank could send the portfolio around Canada as a travelling show. I was lucky enough to be the shop that did the framing under the watchful eye of the restoration people. Needless to say some of these people have a lot of time on their hands [I worked with many in Toronto over the years] so after numerous IQ, blood, and urine tests, our shop was chosen to frame about 110 of them. It was a great experience as I have always loved many of the Audubon plates. My guess is the portfolio being worth many millions is now under lock and key and only accessible to scholars wearing gloves.
 
I like the info by Ron Flynn but it is a little old. I make the best reproduction of Audubon birds and would send him some for review but I dont think he updates the site anymore. Mine may not be on there because I change the size and color on some to make them look better to me.:)
